The 19th Annual Guelph Dance Festival kicks off tomorrow, the first of five incredible days of contemporary dance all over the city. Known as the event that kicks off the summer festival season, the Guelph Dance Festival is presenting a diverse offering of the best in Canadian contemporary dance. You won’t want to miss it!
 
The In the Studio performances (42 Quebec St.) are first up, beginning at 7 pm Wednesday evening, and featuring the physically dynamic Throwdown Collective (Toronto). They perform again Thursday and Friday at 8 pm. The always-popular In the Park performances take place on Friday at 6 pm (Hanlon Creek Park) and Saturday and Sunday at 12 pm (Exhibition Park), with performers OURO Collective (Vancouver), KasheDance (Toronto), Lisa Odjig (Toronto), and the Young Company of Halifax Dance/Guelph Youth Dance Company. On the Stage, featuring Suzette Sherman (Guelph), Belinda McGuire (Mississauga/NYC), and Dreamwalker Dance Company (Toronto), is Saturday at 8:00 pm at the River Run Centre. Youth Moves, featuring seven youth dance companies, goes up Sunday at 4 pm at the River Run Centre. Complementing the performances are numerous workshops, masterclasses, interactive demonstrations, and talkbacks.
