Guelph Arts Council releases call to artists for downtown HATCH [pop-up art-spaces]

In partnership with City of Guelph, Downtown Renewal and Downtown Guelph Business Association, Guelph Arts Council is excited to present HATCH [pop-up art-space], a project that will connect artists with temporary creative spaces in downtown Guelph.

Guelph Arts Council is working with downtown property owners to provide free space to artists to create pop-up temporary studios, exhibitions, installations, etc. HATCH [pop-up art-space]properties are selected for their visibility and relationship to the streetscape, and will be at street-level in new, transitioning or under-utilized spaces in the downtown core.

Guelph Arts Council is now inviting artists to submit project proposals for the available HATCH[pop-up art-space] properties. This project is open to both professional and emerging artists from Guelph and beyond.

Each Artist Application will be juried and successful applicants will be matched with an appropriate and available space for approximately 30 days. Artists will be paid artist fees and provided with a materials stipend when available. Permitted uses and available dates for each property will vary. Details are included in the online application.

Successful applicants will be notified July 13-16, 2015 and the first round of projects will be installed starting July 27, 2015.

Application Deadline: July 5, 11:59pm
