November’s Theme of Donate Continues with Giving Tuesday

In our hectic lives, for many of us the holidays are a time-out. We reconnect with those we love to share gifts, food, fun and memories. We often reach out by volunteering or donating to help others experience the joy of the season.

The holidays are also a time to revel in cultural traditions, or be inspired to make new ones. The arts offer many interpretations of this magical time of year, and create opportunities to reflect, experience and share that no mall can duplicate. Enrich your holiday season by purchasing a handmade gift from a local artist, buying a ticket to a performance, or supporting an arts organization with your membership or donation.

Be inspired this holiday season – reconnect, reflect, revel, and give.

2015 has been a bit of a Guelph Concert Band sandwich for me. January’s Artful Pledge theme was Join, and it inspired me to join up with a band again after 7 years hiatus from my poor old flute. Now, in the spirit of November’s theme of Donate, I’ve had the pleasure and privelege of joining their board of directors. Time can be a valuable donation as well. Though I’m not making big cash gifts at this stage of my life, when Guelph Film Festival has a jar out on their ticket desk, I throw $5 in, and so can you!
