CAMPS & WORKSHOPS

Summer Arts Explosion Camp Gears Up for Big Fun!

Guelph Dance is gearing up for two weeks of big summer fun at its Arts Explosion Camp, taking place July 4-8 and July 11-15 at the River Run Centre, 35 Woolwich Street, Guelph. Spots are still available in its half-day program for children born 2010-2011 and in several full-day programs for those born 2003-2006. All campers will have a wide variety of arts experiences, including dance, theatre, singing, storytelling, visual art, and hula hooping, taught by professional teaching artists. The cost for the half-day program is $150; the cost for the full day program is $240. More information about all of the camp programs can be found at www.guelphdance.ca or by calling 519-780-2220.

Guelph United Performers – Community Theatre Camp

Community Theatre Camps offer a wonderful, very affordable summer drama program to all boys and girls in our community.

AGG’s Rock, Paper, Scissors week promises to be all fun and games! Use a combination of found objects and artmaking techniques to build a board game, make an indestructible rock garden, and race red solo cups across the Sculpture Park. Take your Tic-Tac-Toe game to the next level on Friday, July 8 and play with paint in and on AGG’s outdoor Inflatable Gallery.

In partnership with Noecker Travel, Guelph Arts Council is pleased to announce Fallingwater and Other Treasures by Frank Lloyd Wright, an autumn tour of architectural sites in New York and Pennsylvania. The tour is all-inclusive by luxury motor coach from Guelph, and runs October 13 to 15, 2016. Participants will be escorted by Sharyn Seibert, noted Guelph artist and art educator, and Brian Lauder, a long-time architecture and Wright enthusiast. Proceeds from the tour will benefit the Guelph Arts Council.

Guelph’s annual Art on the Street exhibition and sale, co-presented by Guelph Arts Council and the Downtown Guelph Business Association (DGBA), will be taking place on Saturday, July 16, 2016. Artists will showcase their works in temporary, open-air studios along Quebec Street.

The Children’s Art Festival

While Art on the Street takes over Quebec Street, children of all ages are invited to create their own work in St. George’s Square at The Children’s Arts Festival. The festival will be an all day event to inspire every child’s inner artist.

Prior to Art on the Street, the DGBA will pair artists with numerous downtown businesses to present Art in the Shops from July 11th to 16th.
