Historical Walking Tours begin Sunday, April 28

On the same weekend as Doors Open Guelph, Guelph Arts Council launches its 2019 season of Historical Walking Tours. The tours begin on Sunday April 28 at 2 pm with Where Guelph Began, which leaves from Juice Inc., 25 Waterloo Ave., at the corner of Dublin Street. Cost is $5/person in cash to the guide, or online through the guelpharts.ca event calendar. New this year: buy a six-tour pass (valid on any dates) and get one tour free.

Guelph Emerging Artist Mentorship Project – Summer Round Application Deadline Sunday, May 19

The Guelph Emerging Artist Mentorship Project is a partnership of Guelph Arts Council and the University of Guelph School of Fine Art and Music that supports emerging artists in the critical transition to professional life. Applications for the fifth round of the project are now being accepted. Guelph visual and media artists, musicians, and cultural managers are encouraged to apply as mentors or emerging artists. Established artists may apply online as mentors, and emerging artists may apply online to be mentored. Project details are included in the online application forms.

Intellectual Property Law for Artists with Suzanne Deliscar- Saturday, May 25

Wondering how to protect your original literary, visual, media, or music creations? Join lawyer-linguist Suzanne Deliscar of Deliscar Professional Corporation for a four-hour workshop on intellectual property law for artists. This workshop will cover the terminology and legal principles used in the area of intellectual property law, specifically patents, copyright, trademarks, and privacy and confidential information. Save the Date! for Social Media Q&A with Tim Campbell – Thursday, June 13

No more lectures, no more talking at participants: join Relation Media’s Tim Campbell at 6 pm on June 13 at 10C Shared Space. He’ll open the floor for 2 hours for the community to bring any questions on social media and digital marketing. All questions are sacred: whatever you’re curious about or struggling with is fair game. Bring your questions, or an open mind to hear what others have to ask – and we’ll learn together.

Art on the Street – Saturday, June 22, 10 am – 5 pm, Quebec Street, Downtown Guelph

Art on the Street is co-presented with Downtown Guelph Business Association and features contemporary fine art and craft. The juried event has grown since 2003 to become Guelph’s largest outdoor exhibition and sale. Each year, approximately 80 established and emerging artists showcase their works to several thousand visitors in temporary, open-air studios. Art on the Street is a free event which welcomes art lovers of all ages.
