Summertime is here which means refreshing watermelon snacks, fun playlists, and new staff at GAC!
We are pleased to welcome James Florio and Elly Grant to our Summer 2021 staff team, thanks to Canada Summer Jobs.
James Florio is a brand new staff member with a keen ear for audio engineering and a knack for community organizing. James is part of the Bumaroo Collective based here in Guelph. James also supports local musicians and businesses through his audio engineering business JFAE. James brings an exceptional knowledge of programming and outreach to the Communications & Events Assistant role.
You may recognize Elly Grant from her work with GAC these past few months! We are grateful that Elly is staying on with GAC this summer to carry out the Guelph Arts Hub website project as the Digital Strategies Assistant. Elly is a curator, administrator, event manager andentrepreneur who calls Guelph her hometown. Elly runs an upcycled clothing business, Double Dipped, and is currently pursuing her Master’s in Art Education at NSCAD University.
Together, Elly and James will help support various summer programming such as Art on the (Virtual) Street, Doors Open Guelph, Historical Walking Tours, Live Performance Booking Service, and the exciting launch of GAC’s new website.
Fun fact! James and Elly are neighbours and hope to do some socially distanced backyard co-working together this summer. Both love watermelon and dance tracks, and will be sure to bring their fun loving attitudes and awesome work ethic to the team.
