The Art Gallery of Hamilton is seeking candidates for the position of Development Officer. As a key member of a small team the Development Officer has a specialized focus on grants, government relations, and foundations. This multifaceted role involves identifying and cultivating new sources of funding, building and stewarding relationships with key stakeholders, and supporting the delivery of high-impact proposals aligned with AGH’s strategic priorities.
In addition, the Development Officer plays an active role in the planning and execution of special events, including
the AGH Annual Gala, and provides administrative support through database management, financial coordination,
and report generation.
The ideal candidate will bring 3-5 years of experience in a development environment, ideally in the cultural, nonprofit sector. The ideal candidate will have strong grant writing and research experience and will be a passionate individual that can advocate for the arts with a natural inclination for community engagement and outreach.
The role is full-time (35 hours per week) Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend and evening shifts;
predominantly on-site but with the option to work remote when needed. Salary range for this role will be between
$45,000 and $49,000 based on experience and includes competitive benefits and paid time off.
