Want to get paid to take workshops, learn from media professionals and create short films?
Filmmaking for Future Creatives is a skill development program offering hands-on training in filmmaking and video production for young adults facing underemployment and financial barriers.
In this program, ten participants between the ages of 18 and 29 will have the opportunity to attend eight workshops led by various industry professionals, free of cost. These workshops offer a comprehensive overview of the filmmaking process and cover key skills which include: Screenwriting, Directing, Camera Operation, Lighting, Sound Recording and Video Editing.
Additionally, participants will collaborate with one another to create short films using the skills they acquire throughout the program.
Selected applicants will be awarded a stipend of $300 CAD after successfully completing the program. To be eligible for the stipend, participants are required to attend all scheduled workshops and screenings, and actively contribute to the production of at least one film project.
No prior experience in video production is required.
We are seeking participants who:
– Are between the ages of 18 and 29*
– Identify as underemployed or facing financial challenges*
– Desire to enhance their skills in video production
– Have a passion for narrative filmmaking and storytelling
– Are eager to engage in collaborative learning experiences
