About the role: Silence (Guelph Portal for Adventurous New Sound Events), a small charitable music venue in downtown Guelph,
is seeking a Special Projects Lead to coordinate Cello-Centricity, a foundation-funded fall concert series. This is a defined, short-term contract scoped specifically to this series — not a general operations role — with clear ownership of event logistics, artist and vendor coordination, marketing, and community/audience engagement.
The role reports to the Executive Director within a defined decision-rights and escalation structure, so responsibilities and communication lines are clear from day one.
What you’ll do:
● Coordinate event logistics for each concert in the series — venue readiness, artist hospitality, vendor and
sponsor liaison
● Lead marketing and promotion: social media, community outreach, listings, and press
● Manage ticketing/RSVP platforms and volunteer scheduling for show nights
● Serve as the day-to-day point of contact for artists, sponsors, and community partners
● Provide regular status updates to the Executive Director and board liaison
What we’re looking for
● Experience in event production, arts administration, PR/marketing, or nonprofit project coordination
● Comfort working independently within a defined structure and clear communication lines
● Familiarity with the Guelph/KW arts and music community an asset
● Based in or able to work regularly in the Guelph–Kitchener–Cambridge area
Contract term: through the fall 2026 series.
Compensation: competitive contract rate, commensurate with experience — flexible for the right candidate.
Start date: as soon as possible.
