Dogtopia Foundation Canada Charity Art Show

Dogtopia of Applewood and The Dogtopia Foundation of Canada invite you to participate in our first Charity Art Show. The event will be sponsored alongside NSD (National Service Dogs). This will take place in our facility, 1224 Dundas Street East Unit 1B, during a social afternoon on Sunday, May 26th, from 1:00 to 6:00pm.
There will be appetizers, refreshments, and a cash bar, creating the perfect atmosphere for art appreciation and socializing while supporting a good cause. We will invite our customers and the community as well as municipal authorities, and local press.
Dogtopia’s noble cause is to enhance the joy of dog parenthood and enable dogs to positively change our world through the Dogtopia Foundation of Canada. The purpose of this exhibit is to raise funds for the Foundation and to promote our local emerging and established artists. We welcome a variety of artists, original art, two-dimensional media and limited-edition photography. All funds raised from this event will go towards training service dogs for veterans and first responders impacted by PTSD.
Project Requirements
Applicants are expected to be able to create and upload photographs of their work and properly label and submit according to instructions.
Important Dates and Fees:
- Entries open: Friday, March 8, 2024.
- Entry Fee: A $45 fee will be charged. Three submissions per artist. This fee is non-refundable and will be donated to Dogtopia Foundation of Canada. The pieces will be selected by the Jurors.
- Deadline for submissions: Friday, March 29, 2024
- Notification date of the Jury results: Monday, April 15, 2024 via email. The decision of the Jury is final.
By applying to this exhibition, you have agreed to allow reproduction of your digital files for publicity and archival purposes, unless we are informed otherwise in writing. You also give us permission to communicate with you via e-mail about this and future events. We are not charging or paying exhibition fees.
Artists are responsible for bringing their own display racks to show their work. A space of about 15 linear ft will be allocated to each artis. We will charge the public an admission fee to the show of $40 that will be donated to The Dogtopia Foundation of Canada. Admission includes entrance for two, two glasses of wine, and appetizers.
Eligibility
All Artists are welcome to submit their portfolio.
Compensation
A sales commission of 30% payable to the Dogtopia Foundation of Canada will be applied. The 70% remaining is for the artist. Artists will be expected to share information about their artwork and the exhibit on their own social media platforms. The success of this show depends equally on everyone communicating with their own followers to generate attendance to the show and more opportunities for everyone.
Selection Process
Notification date of the Jury results: Monday, April 15, 2024 via email. The decision of the Jury is final.
Submission Requirements
You will need to provide the following information:
- Artist’s Full Name
- Artist’s Email Address
- Please provide and upload three (3) artworks you are interested in showing at the gallery. Submit art piece descriptions, titles, media, size, price
- Provide images of your works, presented with the artwork’s title
- Indicate if you are you interested in contributing an art piece for our silent auction, where all proceeds will be donated to The Dogtopia Foundation of Canada
