General Administrator- Rainbow Chorus of Waterloo Wellington

The Rainbow Chorus of Waterloo Wellington is a community chorus that welcomes members of all genders, sexualities, and gender expressions – and allies of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. We promote inclusion and awareness of the 2SLGBTQIA+ communities of Waterloo Wellington through concerts and community involvement.

The Rainbow Chorus is a charitable, not-for-profit organization that depends on financial support from its members, sponsors, and communities.

Job Brief

The General Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the organization and supporting the Rainbow Chorus board and Artistic Director to operate in a manner consistent with the organization’s vision and mission statements.

What You’ll Do

● Member management; chorus registration each term

● Create Zeffy ticketing campaigns for concerts and registration

● Prepare administrative reports for board meetings.

● Prepare and oversee contracts for paid artists (e.g., soloists, instrumentalists), suppliers, and venues

● Arrange for insurance coverage for venues and events

● Apply for raffle licenses

● Receive/send email, including weekly newsletter. Check post office box regularly.

● Maintain annual schedule of timelines and duty checklists for staff and board, particularly focusing on concerts and events

● Attend choir rehearsals as necessary to provide ongoing communication with choir members

● Communicate with other arts organizations as particular needs dictate (e.g., for non-program related community collaborations)

What We’re Looking For

● Dedication to the 2SLGBTQIAA+ community

● Strong organizational and project management skills

● Proficiency in Google Workspace and database management

● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

● Familiarity with funding sources, grant writing, and donor relations

● Passion for the arts and a commitment to supporting the creative community

● Experience in arts programming, event management, or nonprofit administration an asset

● Experience in the not-for-profit sector an asset

● Experience working with a board an asset

● Flexible hours; must be able to work occasional evenings and weekends

Compensation

● $22-30/hour, based on candidate’s experience

Location

● Hybrid work

○ The Rainbow Chorus is based in Guelph; most work can be done remotely

○ The GA must be able to attend Saturday concerts and 2-3 Wednesday evening rehearsals/term in Guelph
