Diyode Community Workshop is exploring ways to support local businesses by designing and building temporary accessibility ramps. These ramps can make storefronts more welcoming for customers using wheelchairs, strollers, or with limited mobility.
Art Not Shame is partnering with Diyode to bring artists and community members into the project. We are looking for artists to create designs that center what accessibility means to them. Designs can be more abstract or representational. Artists who have lived experience with disability will be prioritized. Artists who are Black, Indigenous, radicalized, LGBTQ2IA+, newcomers, struggling with mental health and/or addictions will also be prioritized.
Artists will be provided an honourarium for their time and creativity including designing and painting. All materials are provided.
Artist Honourarium:
34″ x 12″ Ramp – $300
34″ x 27″ Ramp – $375
34″ x 42″ Ramp – $500
