About the Role
We’re looking for a Volunteer Coordinator to help build and support our growing team of brilliant volunteers! If you’re the kind of person who loves people, knows how to keep the wheels turning behind the scenes, and gets excited about systems and snacks, this might be your dream summer role.
This is a great gig for someone who wants to learn what goes into building a thriving volunteer program—recruitment, onboarding, organizing schedules, creating welcoming systems, and thinking about the experience of volunteering. Got ideas for making people feel seen and celebrated? We want to hear them.
What You’ll Be Doing:

Researching and helping shape a volunteer program that supports community arts magic (we’ll be launching this for the first time—you’ll help us build it from the ground up!)

Recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding new volunteers

Coordinating schedules and making sure events and programs are well supported

Being the go-to person for volunteers (a friendly face, a helpful guide!)

Connecting people’s skills and passions with what the org needs

Dreaming up meaningful ways to recognize and celebrate volunteer contributions

Keeping records and gathering feedback

Collaborating with staff to identify opportunities for volunteer involvement

Helping us reflect, learn, and improve how we support our volunteer crew

Supporting the day-to-day care and upkeep of our community arts hub when not working on volunteer-specific tasks

Pitching in with other duties as needed—we’re a small team and we lift together!
You Might Be Someone Who:

Loves working with people and building community

Is organized, reliable, and loves a good spreadsheet or colour-coded calendar

Feels confident communicating clearly and with care

Has big ideas for how to make volunteering welcoming and joyful

Is excited about systems and structures that support belonging

Is curious about non-profit or arts administration work

Can take initiative and work independently (but also loves to collaborate)

Has some familiarity with Google Workspace, Canva, or other organizing/design tools
Eligibility
This full-time, contract position is generously funded by the Government of Canada through the Canada Summer Jobs Program, which requires that the candidate:

Be between 15–30 years old at the start of the position

Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or have refugee protection

Have a valid SIN and be legally able to work in Canada

The work location is onsite at Art Not Shame, 119 Wyndham St. North, Guelph.

This is a contract role based on 30 hours/week at $21.30/hour (Ontario living wage for Guelph-Wellington).
The position duration is 9 weeks, starting June 16th, 2025 (possible flexibility on start date).
