This bracelet helps tell a story of Seven Generations.
When a child is forcefully removed from their home and sent to a Residential School, the affected Seven Generations include the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents left behind, that child’s future children, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. The 7th generation affected is of course that child themselves. The 7 red onyx (orange) centre stones represent these Seven Generations.
The 2 white jade stones represent the child’s parents.
The 3 black onyx beside the two white jade stones represent the child’s other family.
The other 3 black onyx represent the other children at the Residential School.
