We are excited to announce a call for art submissions for our upcoming GAC Members’ Show. This exhibition aims to showcase the talent of our wonderful members, and we invite all members to participate by submitting their artwork.
About the GAC Members’ Show: The GAC Members’ Show is an annual exhibition dedicated to highlighting the creative contributions of our valued members. It is an opportunity for visual artists to share their work with the community and engage in a collective celebration of artistic expression. The Members’ Show will take place at the Sally Wismer Gallery from early November to mid-December.
Submission Guidelines:
- Eligibility: Only current members of Guelph Arts Council are eligible to submit their artwork for the Members’ Show. If you are not a member, you may register to become one at www.guelpharts.ca/become-a-member. Membership is on a PWYC (pay what you can) sliding scale.
- Medium: We are accepting submissions of 2D artworks only. This includes paintings, drawings, prints, photography, and mixed media works.
- Size Limitation: Artworks must be no larger than 24×36 inches, with a depth of no more than 4 inches (including frame if applicable).
- Hanging Requirements: All accepted artworks must have a wire or D-ring affixed to the back for easy hanging.
- Artwork Limit: Each artist may submit a maximum of two pieces for consideration. We cannot guarantee that all submitted works will be selected due to size/space constraints.
- Submission Deadline: The deadline for submissions is October 25nd at 11:59pm. Late submissions will not be accepted.
Selection Process: Due to limited space, we can only accommodate 20 artworks for display. Our goal is to ensure that as many identities, practices, mediums and themes are represented as possible to demonstrate Guelph’s vast talent and creativity. GAC staff will review each submission based on artistic merit, creativity, and adherence to the guidelines.
Notification: Selected artists will be notified via email by October 29th, 2026. If your artwork is chosen for display, you will receive further instructions regarding delivery and installation, which will take place during the first week of November. Works will be on display until mid December, with a reception taking place

Important Notes:
- By submitting your artwork, you grant Guelph Arts Council the right to use images of your artwork for promotional purposes related to the GAC Members’ Show.
- Artists are responsible for the transportation of their artwork to and from the Sally Wismer Gallery
