Another person’s dilemma is your opportunity. Starting on Thursday May 5 at 4 p.m. you can bid on art to enhance your home in Guelph Arts Council’s online auction and fundraiser, Collector’s Dilemma. The auction is a week-long tussle that continues until 8 p.m. on Thursday May 12. Don’t miss out on the action!

You’ll have the opportunity to bid on over 30 works of art that have been generously donated by local collectors. There is a wide range of unique pieces, in a variety of media, styles, sizes, and price points. Whether you’re trying to grow your collection or simply want to add to the beauty of your space, this event is for you.

You don’t need an account to browse the art for sale. Just click on “View All Items” on the Collector’s Dilemma auction page. Bidding is fun and easy. Login to your existing account or create a 32 Auctions account. It takes only a minute to fill in your information and you will receive a confirmation email. Then, you can review the selection of art and simply type in the amount you want to bid. That’s when the real fun begins. You’ll be notified of competitors’ bids throughout the auction period. You won’t want to let that beautiful painting slip away because someone else offered $5 more than you! In previous years, winning bids have ranged from $25 to $850.

After the auction closes, you will be notified if your bids were successful. Payments can be made through the auction site using your debit or credit card. You will then receive an email to schedule a convenient pick-up time.

If someone else will be picking up your items for you, just indicate that on your form. If local pick-up is not possible, we may be able to ship smaller works with the buyer covering shipping and insurance charges.

Guelph Arts Council is thrilled to be hosting the fifth annual Collector’s Dilemma auction to raise funds to help us support artists and the arts in our community at a time when many local artists and arts organizations are struggling. The target for this event is $7,000. You can help make that happen, starting May 5 at 4 p.m.

We encourage you to follow Guelph Arts Council on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, and sign-up for GAC e-news to stay updated on GAC events and programs, including Collector’s Dilemma.

If you have any questions or for more information on the auction please email [email protected].
