In 2025, Guelph Arts Council (GAC) will be recognizing a pinnacle milestone – our 50th anniversary as a custodian and protector of the arts in our beautiful community. As the arts continue to play a pivotal role for Guelph and its citizens, it’s an honour to continue championing and growing opportunities for our creative community.
We need your support
Arts continue to play a role in the well-being of our community, and GAC remains central to that. And like arts organizations everywhere, we are feeling the pressure of the current time. We are asking all friends of Guelph Arts Council to consider making a financial donation, if you’re able.
Your donations will help us continue to offer flagship programs like Art on the Street, Historical Walking Tours, and the Guelph Emerging Artist Mentorship Project (GEAMP), as well as increased artBar programming and continued advocacy for municipal support for local artists and arts organizations.
Sharing space and saving community costs through the artBar
For these past two years, sharing the artBar has allowed GAC to partner with more artists and arts organizations than in recent memory, offering year-round gallery space for exhibitions, as well as a stage for performances. Guelph artists, presenters, festivals, and arts organizations have collectively saved thousands of dollars by using the space at low-to-no cost for everything from larger-scale events to board meetings and co-working, bringing thousands of people through our doors.
We would love to keep all of this going, and we need your help:
- Consider making a $50 donation in celebration of GAC’s 50 years. Please know that any donation amount is appreciated, and that monthly donations are also an option. Ontario Arts Council data shows that every $1 investment in the arts yields an economic benefit of $25.
- Send us your favourite story of how you’ve seen art come to life in Guelph in the last 50 years.
- Continue showing your support of GAC and the arts by following us on Instagram and Facebook and sharing with your followers.
The arts would not have the voice and life it does in this community without all of you. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your commitment, dedication, support and of course, your creativity.
To 50 years. And to all of you. Thank you for your continued support.
Sincerely,
Guelph Arts Council
