Showing Soon at Guelph Civic Museum: Mary’s Wedding

Hello readers, we are the creative team for Mary’s Wedding, a play by Stephen Massicotte being co presented by Bowerbird Theatre Company and Guelph Civic Museum.

As we approach Remembrance Day let us not forget the brave men, women, and horses (yes, horses!) who fought for our freedom during the Great War. Mary’s Wedding is a breathtaking ride through the beautiful and heartbreaking reality so many Canadians endured as they navigated World War 1.

This is the premier production by Bowerbird Theatre Company, a group of passionate arts advocates. The idea to put on this production was born out of casual “someday” chats that turned into a nagging desire that we just couldn’t ignore anymore.

Collaboration is at the heart of this production, and the Guelph Civic Museum graciously granted us a space to tell this story. The rich historical background of the museum provides the perfect backdrop to transport you to another time in the not-so-distant past.

Our creative team features some of Guelph’s new emerging talents, as well as seasoned professionals, making the entire production a balanced blend of perspectives and experiences.

A thank you to Guelph Arts Council for the use of their beautiful Sally Wismer Gallery for our rehearsals. If you find yourself walking through Old Quebec Street Mall you may catch a glimpse of our actors hard at work.

We truly hope to see you there.
